Spacious ground floor rooms are available to hire for family celebrations and parties, or for community use by clubs and organisations. We have a number of events at the Walronds, to find out what’s comming up, please take a look at our events page.

The Ground Floor is available to hire for community or private use, and has hosted business and family events, presentations, art shows, drama, antique fairs and pop-up restaurants.  The spacious rooms comprise an entrance hall, three reception rooms, a large commercially equipped kitchen and three toilets.

The Walronds is very much part of the community, the ground floor areas of the Walronds are available for hire for and the garden is open daily for the residents of Cullompton to use or hire out for a special event.

Our large outer garden is open to the public on a daily basis and can also be hired out for special occasions and events, together with the hire of kitchen

A Brief History

The Walronds is a late Tudor town house listed Grade 1, beautifully restored in 2014, fully equipped and in use for community events.

The Trust was formed in 1997 to try to preserve buildings of historic interest in the parish of Cullompton. It concentrated its efforts on the Walronds, a grade 1 property at serious risk built between 1602 and 1605. The property was bequeathed to the Trust by Miss Severn and the Misses Reeves.

After extensive development work, with reports on all aspects of the property, repair and restoration began on 1 October 2012. The restored property was opened by HRH The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO on 13 June 2014. The ground floor and garden are used for community and business purposes. The upper floors are privately let.
